7th UKM ASEAN Art Festival: A Night to Remember

 

On November 9, 2024, the Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Razak (DECTAR), UKM, hosted the 7th UKM ASEAN Art Festival, a vibrant celebration of culture from across the region. With performances from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei, and Korea as a guest participant, the event was a mesmerizing showcase of tradition and creativity.

Every performance brought something unique. Indonesia’s gamelan beats, Thailand’s graceful dances, and Cambodia’s apsara moves were just chef’s kiss. But the highlight? Definitely Korea. They gave us a taste of their K-pop vibes, blending it with traditional elements, and honestly, the crowd was living for it.

Outside the hall, there were crafts, and cool stuff from the different countries. It felt like walking through a mini ASEAN cultural market.

Overall, it was such a fun night! we get to celebrate diversity, making new friends, and soaking in the beauty of so many cultures. If you missed it, you definitely missed out, but hey, there’s always next year!
